Chantecaille HD Perfecting Powder
Chantecaille, while a classically French brand, really pushes the boundaries when creating new products. They launched their HD Perfecting Powder fairly recently. While High Definition products are not a new phenomena (Make Up Forever most notably), Chantecaille's HD perfecting powder really delivers on giving us a product that gives us that airbrushed perfection.
I was looking for a pressed translucent powder for setting my makeup and for portable touch-ups during the day. Since I was a fan of their Protection Naturelle powder I thought I would give this a try. This powder is housed in a feather-light, gunmetal mirrored compact that is sleek, elegant and artful. The powder is finely milled and goes on initially with a whitish cast which soon disappears. I am not sure how this would work on dark complexions and I suggest testing this before purchasing. I apply it with my large Real Techniques Powder Brush. At first, my skin is ultra matte, but this become more satin finish with bit of time. This paraben-free powder does have Inchi seed oil and Brazilian Pepper-tree seed oil for hydration. This powder has not settled into any fine lines and smooths over any visible pores. I have oil skin and this wears pretty well on my skin, with touch ups only here and there. This is a lovely product that is a welcome addition to my powder collection.

Chantecaille Protection Naturelle - Perfect Portable Powder
Chantecaille is an exquisite skincare and makeup brand from France. I'm sure it needs no introduction, as their products are very popular and found worldwide. Chantecaille is a family affair and their love for their brand is evident from their attention to detail as seen in their beautiful packaging and really outstanding technologically advanced products. I needed a powder for oil control and setting my makeup. I came across Chantecaille Protection Naturelle and fell in love with this unique powder, that I use through the day as needed. It is unique as it is in a container that has it's own built in brush and it contains a SPF 46 PA+++ (which is full spectrum sun protection). The brush can be cleaned and a refill attached when it runs out - I have had mine since April and it is just under half way with daily use. Pretty good I think. The brush is protected by a retractable plastic sheath. The container is very well made and it just pops into my bag for all day shine free sun protection. The powder itself comes in 2 colour variations, and it comes up through the base of the brush. The only other product similar to this is the Peter Thomas Roth, but I have not tried it. I use it for a dual purpose - to help keep my skin matte and sun protection. I think it is marketed primarily as on-the-go sun protection, but the sales consultant recommended it to me as I wanted a product I could touch up with on the move. I wear it over all my different foundations, including Chantecaille Just Skin tinted moisturizer for a fresh, no makeup makeup look. It can also be wore alone after moisturizer. I am waiting for the new HD perfecting powder also by Chantecaille which is enroute to me, and I cannot wait to test it out.

My Favourite Lip treatments for kissable, soft lips
I really love a good lip treatment. I have tried quite a few over the years and have a some favourites in my arsenal to keep my lip supple and feeling good.
Clarins Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm with essential Rose Wax
I have repurchased this countless times. It in my handbag all the time for quick on the go application.
It hydrates and really keeps my lips soft. It has many active ingredients like Shea butter and Ceramide 3. Other ingredients which make up the Maxi lip complex helps boost collagen. It also doubles as a great natural gloss. It's lightweight and comfortable to wear,
Super By Nicholas Perricone Lush Lips
This delectable lip treat stays next to my bed. It has a light coconut scent which sends me into holiday mode. However, not only does this little jar of goodness smell so delicious it contains Coconut Oil Tocotrienols, which is a form of Vitamin E that drenches your lips in moisture. I would love this to come in a stick formula for all day use, as I'm not one to stick my fingers in the jar if I feel they are not 100% clean. The jar lasts quite a long time as the formula is packed tight in the jar, but melts into the lips on application. This is one of my favourite Super By Dr Nicholas Perricone products. My lips definitely are LUSH after using this product.
Sugar Advanced Therapy by Fresh
This product is most like your traditional Lip Balm. This product is meant to help with wrinkles around the mouth area with the inclusion of Sea Fennel and Hyaluronic Filling Spheres to help add volume to the lips. Honestly I have not noticed this particular benefit. It is a good hydrating lip product. I do wish it felt a bit more pliable on the lips and only seems to melt onto the lips when the weather is hot.
Chantecaille Lip Potion
This lip treatment is by Chantecaille, a niche brand which I recently discovered and I am loving. They have innovative formula's using cutting edge technology. This lip treatment also has Vitamin E and Shea butter to nourish and hydrate. The product in the jar is softer that the Super Lush Lips, so it is easier to apply. The downside is that it gets used up much faster. It does work really well in keeping my lips chap-free and is a good overnight treatment. I wake up am my lips still feel soft.
Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Skin Protectant
This is the work-horse of the group. The consistency is quite thick and sticky. I think it makes a great moisture barrier by virtue of this consistency. The scent reminds me of regular petroleum jelly - which I think could be approved upon. It also relies on the benefits of Vitamin E. Included as ingredients are Petrolatum and Salicylic Acid for mild exfoliation for kissable lips. This is the least "pretty" of the group, but does work as well if you can get past the thick formula and scent.
I have just ordered Sarah Happ Lip Slip and scrub and hopefully they will arrive soon. This brand had been hyped by many in the media. I really do hope it lives up to it. The packaging is so sweet and I am a sucker for little boxes with bows.
What lip treatment do you love? Any recommendations......
