Happy Anniversary Dr Perricone - No Concealer Concealer Review

Ok, so I was planning my No Concealer Concealer review, when I received a Perricone MD email discussing Dr Perricone upcoming 15 Year Anniversary. So, firstly I would like to say thank you to Dr Perricone for 15 years of continual innovation and for bringing us such effective products that have truly changed my skin. His dedication to his field of expertise really came evident to me when watching a presentation DVD of Dr Perricone giving a informative lecture on his quest to learn about aging and how to combat it (The DVD came in a gift set I had purchased). This brings me to another of Dr Perricone's wonderful products that I have been using for awhile now - No Concealer Concealer.

A well loved bottle of No Concealer Concealer

No Concealer Concealer is a tinted under eye concealer with both anti-aging and protective qualities. This combination of treatment and make-up really makes it a time-saving product.
It is a peach-toned tint which helps counteract dark circles. It is meant for all skin tones, but those on the far end of the spectrum might struggle with the colour - but it is perfect for me (light to medium skin with both yellow/pink undertones). I use it in the morning after my Face Finishing Moisturizer. I take a really small pea size as a little goes a long way. I use my ring finger or my Real Techniques deluxe crease brush for seamless blending.
This formula has neuropeptides which works on my fine lines and helps with elasticity. I do feel my fine lines have improved with use of this product. It also has a mineral based SPF of 35! This makes it great for everyday use and even better for the beach for that barely there makeup look. It also contains Vitamin C Ester that is a well documented anti-oxidant with good brightening properties. Lastly, it has micro-circulatory agents (007- not sure) to help boost blood circulation to the eye area which helps overtime to erase dark circles, which I do suffer from, so this has been a great help.
It goes on smooth and my under eye area does look fresher. It wears well and does not settle into my fine lines. I have enjoyed using this product. Let me be the "first" to say Happy Anniversary Dr Perricone, I cannot wait for the next 15!

No Concealer Concealer was sent to me for consumer review (before Makeup Remastered was in existence). This review is 100% my own opinion.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment. I love hearing what you have to say and appreciate every one! Please do not leave your URL in the comment as I will consider this spam. Thanks! MakeupRemasterbyJo xxx

My Favourite cleansers-Highly recommended !

Cleansing forms the basis for any good skincare routine. I have always had any oily skin, so from the start always opted for a cleanser that in my mind made my skin feel squeaky clean. As skincare has evolved over the years, so must our mindset of how we choose what to use. Traditionally, someone with an oily skin would lean towards foaming cleanser and those with dryer skins milky solutions that were usually tissued off. Many skincare brands now market their products with two strategies in mind. Firstly, what the product can do for your skin- radiance, anti-aging, whitening etc. Secondly the finish of the product ie gel, creamy or oil.
So years later my skin is still oily and prone to blemishes and dehydration. I now not only look at how the cleanser makes my skin feel, but also what my skins main concern is for the moment. I have four favourite cleanser that are in rotation at the moment.

Perricone MD Nutritive cleanser
This is a wonderful cleanser that is anti-aging. It is packed with Dr Perricone's signature ingredient's which includes DMAE and Alpha Lipoic Acid. It is a gel that I use with or without my Clarisonic. It feels like it cleans my skin without stripping it of any natural oils. It helps with reducing pore size and improves the look of my fine lines (hopefully prevents them too.) Either way I'm loving it and have used it for quite some time now. I think it would work across the board with regard to skin type and age.
Shu Uemura Fresh Pore Clarifying Gentle Cleansing Oil
Shu Uemura has a few varieties in their cleansing oil arsenal. This is their lightest oil and meant for people with normal, combination or oily skins. I think the basic concept with the oils is that oil attract oil (this is made possible by there "high performance oil system"). So, when you apply the oil to a dry skin it pulls the sebum away from your skin and dissolves impurities (this is my muddled understanding of it and I'm sure it is far more technical). As you add water and slowly emulsify, the product goes milky and rinses off. My skin is left soft and refreshed. I typically use this in the morning., but is also good for eye make removal when cleansing the whole face. This particular one is for pore refining and the SA described this one as the express formula within the cleansing range. Ingredients such as avocado and jojoba protect the integrity of your skin's moisture levels. If you have oily skin, do not be afraid of dousing your skin in this oil - this really works!
Dr Brandt Lineless Foaming Cleanser
Okay, so one of the main reasons I love this cleanser, is that as you apply it in it's gel form. Suddenly it expands and puffs up into a luscious foam that sweeps impurities away. I am a sucker for these little pleasures! It has ingredients like apple fruits, sunflower seed and tangerine leaf oil to help act against free radical damage and hydrate while cleansing well. This is meant for use on all skin types and part of their Lineless Range for first steps to preventing and correcting the first signs of wrinkles. I have also repurchased this product and will continue to use it.
Perricone MD Cleansing Treatment Bar
Who does not love a bar of soap. Well this is the best, and then some! This gentle yet thorough cleanser has glycolic acid in it which helps clear impurities and keeps pores super clean. My skin is hydrated as it also contains Olive Oil Polyphenols. Lastly this little beauty has DMEA which works to tone my skin. So it's anti-aging while it gently exfoliates too! As a bar this is great for on- the- go use- as there is no leaking in your bag. This also can be kept in your shower for express use - lovely!

I purchased all these products myself.

I would love to here which are your favourite cleansers.

Dr Perricone Advanced Face Firming Activator-my first holy grail product

Advanced Face Firming Activator , how do I love thee - let me count the ways...... I have to start my skincare holy grail list with this must have product fom Dr Perricone. I have been using this product for many years, as far back when it was just called Face Firming Activator! I have always had difficult skin - oily and blemish prone. I had always hoped (as we all do) that my skin would settle down before any wrinkles started. Alas, no such luck. So my problem was that most anti-ageing products were formulated for mature skin that tended to be drier, so the products were heavier, which was too much for my oily skin. Also, the products seemed to be too active, so I broke out from them.

Then I tried AFFA-now let me count the ways-

  •  This is a lightweight formula. For me, it forms part of my serum category and typically layered under my moisturizer . In my younger years I would use this on its own, with no moisturizer as I felt it gave enough moisture. I now top it with a moisturizer.
  •  When used at night my skin always felt refreshed on waking. Any blemishes looked less red. I have now learn't that the alpha lipoic acid in the product has anti-bacterial properties. It shows that it should be applied in the morning but I sometimes tweak my routine depending what I am using at the moment.
  •  My skins hydration levels (from Sodium Hyaluronate) are boosted and my face looks toned. This is made possible by the ingredient DMAE which is a feature in many of Dr Perricone's products. I feel this wonder product has kept (most of) my fine lines at bay. My skin although oily tends to get dehydrated, so this really helps.
  •  My pores look more refined which is always a concern for us more oilier folk. The Alpha lipoic acid really works hard on pore size together with glycolic acid. Do not let the word "acid" scare you. I have had no irritation from AFFA and find it gentle on my skin. The texture of my skin is finer.
  •  I'd like to note that the scent of this product (from the DMAE) dissipates after a minute or two and after continued use I can't even smell anything.

Every skincare brands has their "spiel". I have found many of Dr Perricone products actually make an impact on my skin and it's backed by user-friendly science. AFFA just slots into whatever routine I am using as I "re-taylor" it from time to time. Anyone from about 25 upwards should consider an anti-aging product and this one is a good all- rounder. I do believe you should not wait for the lines to appear before starting on a basic anti-aging routine. As the adage says "prevention is better than cure". Advanced Face Firming Activator is my vanguard against aging and I loathe to be out of it.

What product can you not do without?

P.S I have bought this product myself:)- many many times!

Dr Perricone Vitamin C Ester 15 - the power of Vitamin C harnessed

I have been a huge fan of Dr Perricone products for many years now. I really do feel his great products are backed by scientific research that makes sense even to a layman like me. The product I am reviewing today is the New Dr Perricone Vitamin C Ester 15.

Vitamin C is not a new ingredient on the skincare scene and many experts agree it is a tried and tested anti-aging ingredient. What makes Dr Perricone's formula unique is his delivery system. Vitamin C is notoriously unstable, but Dr Perricone has managed to encapsulate the Vitamin C in a fatty acid, which keeps it stable and ensures delivery to the skin. The product also comes is 4 tubes to keep the product "fresh". The product has a light dry-touch feel, which is even great for my oily skin.I also had no reaction or break-out when using my Vitamin C Ester 15. I use it slotted before my Dr Perricone Cold Plasma at night only.  I have used it for about 2mnths now and I find my skin has an overall brighter appearance. I do have a stubborn patch of pigmentation on my right cheek (my driving side) , where I have found a difference. My pores have also been refined and my skin appears a bit firmer ! This is because it boosts collagen production which naturally slows down as we age. Vitamin C is a great also an allround anti-oxidant. This product is paraben free, which is a plus considering all the bad press parabens have been getting.
Here is my photo's to show my progress.

I think you can see my skin tone has become more even and my pores look tighter. Quite impressed I think! This product is $120, but well worth the price.
I would love to hear if you have used this product.
I received this product for consideration, but the review given here is 100% my opinion.
And I think the results speak for themselves!
